JP Losman first joined the Washington coaching staff as an offensive quality control coach ahead of the 2025 season. In the spring of 2026, he was promoted to quarterbacks coach.
In his first season at UW in 2025, Losman was a part of an offensive staff that helped lead UW to a 9-4 overall record and to offensive success in a number of categories. The 2025 Huskies ranked No. 7 in red-zone offense (.926), a huge improvement over its ranking in that same category in 2024 (104th). Washington also made a notable advancement in scoring offense, going from 104th in the FBS in 2024, to No. 17 (34.1 points per game) in 2025. UW was also No. 10 in third-down conversions (.506), No. 9 in completion percentage (.689), and No. 10 in team passing efficiency (159.93).
A former NFL first-round draft pick out of Tulane, Losman grew up in the Venice neighborhood in Los Angeles and originally attended UCLA before transferring to Tulane. He spent eight years in the NFL with the Bills (2004-2008), Raiders (2009), Seahawks (2010), and Dolphins (2011).
Losman began his coaching career at Clemson, serving as a student intern from 2017 through 2019, helping the Tigers to the CFP National Championship in 2018. In 2020, he was named an offensive analyst at Clemson, and was elevated to senior offensive analyst in 2021.
From 2022 to 2024, Losman worked in player personnel and administration at Oklahoma.
A Parade All-America quarterback at Venice High in Los Angeles, Losman served as a the No. 2 QB at Tulane in 2000 and 2001 before earning the starting spot in 2002. That year, he led the Green Wave to an 8-5 reocrd and a win over Hawai’i in the inaugural Hawai’i Bowl.
He earned second-team All-Conference USA, completing 570-of-987 passes for 6,754 and 60 touchdowns during his time at Tulane. He was selected by the Bills with the 22nd pick of the first round in the 2004 NFL Draft.
