Pan Named Second Team PING All-American

June 20, 2012
NORMAN, Okla. - The second, third and honorable mention PING All-America Teams were announced on Wednesday by the GCAA and Washington freshman Cheng-Tsung Pan was named to the second team.
Pan, a 2012 Pac-12 First Team member, GCAA First Team Freshman All-American and third team Golfweek All-American ended the year ranked 26th by Golfweek.
Pan was first among Huskies in four stroke play events and second behind Chris Williams -- who was named a first team All-American earlier this month -- in seven other tournaments. His stroke average of 71.29 is 8th all-time in UW history and second all-time among UW freshmen.
The native of Tawaian burst onto the college golf scene by shooting 15-under 201 to win The Prestige at PGA WEST in just his second event. In all, Pan had six top-10 finishes during the year.
Also earlier today the latest World Amateur Rankings were revealed and Pan was 10th on the list, up from 15th in the last rankings.
Williams jumped all the way from sixth to second following a 10-shot win in the Washington State Amateur.
Jordan Spieth of Texas is No. 1 on the list.
