April 15, 2012
Half Moon Bay, Calif. - The 29th ranked Washington women's golf team heads to the Bay Area this week to play in the 2nd annual Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament which starts on Monday, will be the Huskies final tune up before the Pac-12 Championship, April 27-29.
Washington has finished fourth or better in six tournaments this season, but is coming off back-to-back finishes out of the running with a 10th place finish at the Battle of the Rancho Bernardo and 14th in the Lady Sun Devil Invitational. Head Coach Mary Lou Mulflur has turned to a familiar lineup to help set the sails straight.
The Husky five will consist of Sadena Parks, SooBin Kim, Jennifer Yang, Kelli Bowers and Cyd Okino. Kim is ranked 42nd in the latest Golfstat.com individual rankings (43rd in Golfstat.com rankings), with Parks next highest in the standings in 135th and 121st.
This week's field at the Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay Golf Links will once again feature some of the nation's elite teams.
