Three UW Baseball Players Honored By Pac-10

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Three Washington baseball players - Jacob Lamb, Joe Meggs and Ryan Wiggins - earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 as the conference's postseason awards were handed out Tuesday.
Lamb, a sophomore from Seattle's Bishop Blanchet High, started every game of the 2011 season, seeing action at third base, second base and shortstop. Also an honorable mention selection as a freshman in 2010, Lamb led the 2011 Huskies in hits, triples, home runs and RBI, while batting .311.
Meggs, a redshirt sophomore from Terre Haute, Ind., led the Huskies with his .317 average. Despite missing the first few weeks of the season, he made 44 starts, mainly in left field. He also led the UW in on--base average, hit by pitch and sacrifice hits.
Wiggins, a freshman from West Seattle High School, started 36 games in 2011, mainly at designated hitter, but also at catcher. He batted .299 in his first season at the UW.
Cal's Tony Renda was name the Pac-10 Player of the Year and UCLA's Trevor Bauer was the Pitcher of hte Year. Oregon State head coach Pat Casey won Coach of the Year. For the complete list of 2011 Pac-10 Conference baseball honors, click here.
