UW Women Ranked 10th in Final Golfweek Poll

Seattle - The Washington women's golf team is ranked 10th in the final Golfweek standings following the NCAA Championships. It marks the first time in the program's history that the Huskies stayed in the top-10 for an entire season.
Washington started the season ranked seventh in Golfweek's preseason poll and climbed as high as second after a runnerup finish at the Fall Preview. That was the highest ranking in the program's history. The Huskies went on to finish 14th at the NCAA Championships and junior All-American Paige Mackenzie became the first UW golfer to post a top-10 finish (10th) at the NCAAs.
All five of the UW NCAA participants return next year in addition to two other letterwinners.
The Huskies were one of five Pac-10 teams ranked in Golfweek's final top-20.
"This is a significant milestone for our program," said Husky coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "Staying in the top-10 all year is quite an accomplishment when you consider all of the outstanding programs out there. We didn't have the type of results we had hoped for at the NCAAs, so this is a nice final chapter to our season."
