Landen Hatchett Named Nominee For Wuerffel Trophy

SEATTLE – For his work off the field, Landen Hatchett has been named a nominee for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
Hatchett was also named a nominee for the Allstate Good Works Team and on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy.
Hatchett, a senior from Ferndale, Wash., is a multiple-time Academic All-Big Ten Team and Dean's List honoree. This past spring break, he went on a study abroad trip to Italy and earned the 2026 Husky Leadership Award for football and was the DAWG Award winner.
Off the field, Hatchett has been an active member in the community. He has helped deliver food to a local food bank, coach youth camps back in Ferndale over the summer, visited Children's Hospital doing activities with children and participated in Husky Heroes which is a day where kids come to campus and participate in numerous activities and sports during the day. Additionally, Hatchett leads bible study for the team and assisted selling cookies with a local Girls Scouts troop.
On the field, Hatchett helped lead the offensive line in 2025 that had three players rush for over 500 yards for the first time in program history. Hatchett was also named the 2023 Travis Spring Most Outstanding Freshman and 2024 John P. Angel Offensive Lineman of the Year at the team's postseason banquets. Hatchett was a member of the 2023 team that finished runner in the CFP National Championship and won the Pac-12 Championship. Hatchett has appeared in 32 games throughout his career while making 15 starts.
Established in 2005, the Wuerffel Trophy honors college football players who serve others, celebrates their impact, and inspires greater service across the nation. A member of the National College Football Awards Association, the Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field. It is the first major award honoring the character of service to others.
The Wuerffel Trophy is named after Heisman Trophy winner, College Football Hall of Famer, former NFL quarterback, and renowned humanitarian Danny Wuerffel, whose life mission is to inspire greater service in the world. Wuerffel led the University of Florida to four SEC Championships and the Gators' first National Football Championship as the team's star quarterback. The 1996 Heisman Trophy winner set 17 NCAA and Florida records and won a myriad of other awards including the Maxwell Award, the Davey O'Brien Award, and The William V. Campbell Trophy, presented to the nation's top scholar-athlete. As a nationally recognized humanitarian, Wuerffel inspires leaders to use their influence to make a positive impact and currently serves as President of the Wuerffel Foundation.
