
Huskies Host Gophers, Badgers In Final Home Weekend

SEATTLE – Washington women's tennis returns home for the final time during the regular season hosting Minnesota and No. 31 Wisconsin this weekend on Montlake.
Friday's match is set for a 4 p.m. start while Sunday's begins at noon. Live stream and scoring information can be found on GoHuskies.com.
Washington enters the weekend with an overall record of 15-3 and 6-3 in Big Ten action.
CELEBRATING OUR SENIORS
Reece Carter and Erika Matsuda will be honored in a pre-match ceremony on Sunday. In the two seasons the duo has played together at Washington, the Huskies are 36-8. Read more about Carter and Matsuda's journey to UW in the feature on GoHuskies.com.
DAWGS GETTING IT DONE ON ALL COURTS
Through 18 matches, Washington is a combined 93-24 across all courts in singles and doubles.
DOUBLE DAWGS
Washington has won 16 of 18 doubles points to start the season. The UW duos are a combined 35-7 in doubles action. UW is unbeaten on Court 2 in doubles.
HUSKIES IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Washington is No. 21 in the latest ITA Team Rankings that came out on April 7. Three Huskies are in the ITA singles rankings in No. 75 Erika Matsuda, No. 78 Reece Carter and No. 118 Marie Weisshem. In the doubles rankings, Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit are ranked No. 82.
HOME SWEET HOME
Under head coach Robin Stephenson, the Huskies are 113-29 in Seattle since 2015. The Huskies have posted double-digit home wins in four of the last five season, combining for 59 victories over that time.
SCOUTING THE GOPHERS
Minnesota enters the weekend with a 10-13 overall record and 0-9 in conference action. The Gophers opened the season with six straight wins and has a victory over then-ranked No. 49 Denver. Minnesota and Washington have met seven times previously with the Dawgs leading the series, 4-3. This is the first time the programs will meet as conference opponents.
SCOUTING THE BADGERS
Wisconsin enters the weekend with a 13-5 overall record with a 6-3 mark in Big Ten play. The Badgers are ranked No. 31 in this week's ITA team ranking. Maria Sholokhova is ranked No. 19 in the singles ranking with a 9-3 record in the dual season. Ekaterina Ivanova comes in at No. 60 in the ITA rankings with 7-2 record in the No. 2 spot. The doubles team of Sholokhova and Lucie Urbanova is ranked 20th with a 2-2 record as a pair. The programs have met twice before and have split the series with the Dawgs winning the last meeting in 2023.
UP NEXT
Washington ends the regular season on the road at Penn State (April 17) and at Ohio State (April 19). The Dawgs will then stay in Columbus for the Big Ten Tournament which begins on April 23.
