
Women’s Tennis Heads To SoCal For Top 25 Matchups

SEATTLE – No. 21 Washington women's tennis makes the trip to Southern California for a pair of Top 25 matchups against No. 12 USC and No. 18 UCLA.
Both Friday (at USC) and Sunday's (at UCLA) matches are scheduled to begin at noon. Live stream and scoring information can be found on GoHuskies.com.
Washington enters the weekend with an overall record of 15-1 and 6-1 in Big Ten action.
DAWGS GETTING IT DONE ON ALL COURTS
Through the first 14 matches, Washington is a combined 88-15 across all courts in singles and doubles. UW is unbeaten in matches on Court 2 in singles action and Court 2 in doubles.
DOUBLE DAWGS
Washington has won all 15 of 16 doubles points to start the season. The UW duos are a combined 32-5 in doubles action.
HUSKIES IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Washington is No. 21 in the latest ITA Team Rankings that came out on March 31. Two Huskies are in the ITA singles rankings in No. 70 Reece Carter and No. 76 Erika Matsuda. In the doubles rankings, Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit are ranked No. 75.
CARTER NAMED BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Reece Carter earned Big Ten Player of the Week honor on April 1 following a 4-0 individual weekend. In singles, Carter's wins clinched both matches as the Huskies swept No. 60 Northwestern and No. 52 Illinois. She won her match against Northwestern's Feldman 6-4, 6-2 and against Illinois' 6-1, 6-0. Carter is currently ranked No. 70 in the ITA singles ranking with a 14-0 overall record. Alongside doubles partner Jermine Sherif, the duo had two wins at the No. 3 spot. They opened the weekend clinching the doubles point with a 6-3 over Northwestern's Loureiro/Raath. On Sunday, Carter and Sherif had a 6-0 win over Illinois' Cooper/Madatali. The duo is 9-1 overall.
HOME SWEET HOME
Under head coach Robin Stephenson, the Huskies are 113-29 in Seattle since 2015. The Huskies have posted double-digit home wins in four of the last five season, combining for 59 victories over that time.

USC is 13-5 on the season with a 6-1 mark in conference play. The Trojans are ranked No. 12 in the latest ITA rankings. USC has three players ranked in singles in No. 23 Jana Hossam, No. 58 Emma Charney and No. 123 Eugenia Zozaya. In doubles, there are three pairs ranked in No. 26 Krisha Mahendran/Lily Fairclough, No. 39 Hossman/Fairclough and No. 40 Dani Borruel/Fairclough.

UCLA enters the weekend with a 9-6 overall record and 3-4 in Big Ten action. The Bruins are ranked No. 18 in the latest ITA rankings. There are two Bruins featured in the singles rankings in No. 17 Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and No. 41 Mayu Crossley. Olivia Center and Fate Fakih are No. 29 in the doubles rankings.

Washington returns home for the final time during the regular season with matches against Minnesota (April 10) and Wisconsin (April 12). The Dawgs will recognize their two seniors – Reece Carter and Erika Matsuda – ahead of the match against Wisconsin.
