Softball Falls To Saint Mary’s, Earns Top-25 Win Over Stanford
April 02, 2026 | Softball
Game 1 – No. 14 Washington vs. Saint Mary's
Thursday's loss was the first since Feb. 22 for the Huskies, who had been on a 20-game win streak and won 16-straight in the month of March.
The Huskies recorded just three hits in game one of Thursday's doubleheader, with two of three coming in the fourth inning.
The Dawgs scored first, with Alexis DeBoer notching her 13th home run of the season, the very first hit of the game, at the top of fourth inning.
Ava Carroll notched a double to bring in Giselle Alvarez for the second Husky run but that was all they would put up.

Saint Mary's didn't put a run on the scoreboard until the sixth inning, but the Gaels went on a tear once they did, scoring five in the bottom of the sixth to secure the upset.
Game 2 – No. 14 Washington vs. No. 24 Stanford
The Huskies earned their second Top-25 win of the season in game two of the day, bouncing back from game one to defeat the 24th-ranked Cardinal 6-3.
Morgan Reimer picked up her 20th win of the season against Stanford, pitching seven innings with two strikeouts, a walk and two earned runs.
The Dawgs came out swinging and took an early two-run lead after one, kickstarted by an Alvarez single that scored DeBoer from second base.
Jadyn Glab, who finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI, smacked a single up the middle to bring in Alvarez for the second run of the opening frame.
Stanford responded with a triple in the bottom of the first and a Husky throwing error that brought in the first Cardinal run, followed by a home run in the following frame to tie things up.
Ally Hetzel recorded an RBI single in the top of the third on her way to a 2-for-3 outing, putting Washington back on top 3-2.
Carroll then recorded her second RBI double of the day one batter later, extending the Husky lead to two runs.
