
Huskies Open Conference Play Against Rutgers, Maryland

SEATTLE – No. 15 Washington women's tennis opens conference action with a pair of ranked matchups against No. 64 Rutgers on Friday and No. 49 Maryland on Sunday.
Friday's match is set to start at 5 p.m. PT while Sunday's is at noon PT at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. A live stream can be found on GoHuskies.com and live scoring on HuskyStats.com for both matches.
The Huskies enter the weekend with a 9-0 record and ranked 15th in the latest ITA Team Ranking.
DAWGS GETTING IT DONE ON ALL COURTS
Through the first seven matches, Washington is a combined 54-9 across all courts in singles and doubles. UW is unbeaten in matches on Courts 1 and 2 in singles action and Court 2 in doubles.
DOUBLE DAWGS
Washington has won all nine doubles points to start the season. The UW duos are a combined 19-3 in doubles action.
HUSKIES IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Three Dawgs are ranked in the latest ITA Singles Rankings in Reece Carter, Erika Matsuda and Marie Weissheim. Carter is ranked No. 64 with an 8-0 record at the No. 2 Court. Matsuda comes in the weekend ranked No. 79 with a 4-0 record at the No. 1 Court. On the No. 4 Court, Weissheim is 8-0. The Huskies cracked the Top 15 in the team ranking, coming in at No. 15 on the March 3 ranking.
HOME SWEET HOME
Under head coach Robin Stephenson, the Huskies are 109-29 in Seattle since 2015. The Huskies have posted double-digit home wins in four of the last five season, combining for 55 victories over that time.
LAST TIME OUT
Washington concluded non-conference action with a pair of wins last weekend against Washington State and No. 36 UC Santa Barbara. The Huskies opened the weekend with a 7-0 win over the Cougars and followed it up with a 4-0 victory over the Gauchos.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
Rutgers enters the weekend with a 6-3 overall record and are ranked No. 64 in the latest ITA Team Rankings. Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska are ranked No. 62 in doubles with a 7-2 dual record. The duo defeated the 11th-ranked team in the nation last weekend with a 6-0 victory.
WASHINGTON VS. RUTGERS HISTORY
This is the second all-time meeting between Washington and Rutgers. Last season, Washington won the match 4-0 in Piscataway.
SCOUTING THE TERRIPANS
Maryland enters the first conference weekend with an 8-1 overall record and are ranked No. 49 in the latest ITA Team Ranking. Emma Ghirardato and Ema Kovacevic are 23rd-ranked doubles pair with a 6-0 dual record. In singles, Oliwia Orlinska is ranked No. 89 with a 7-1 dual record.
WASHINGTON VS. MARYLAND HISTORY
Washington is 2-0 all-time against Maryland. In the meeting last season UW earned their first ever Big Ten win, 4-0 in College Park.
