SEATTLE – The No. 17 Washington softball team (25-6, 8-0 Big Ten) went down early against Michigan but used a big fourth inning to earn their eighth Big Ten win of the year, topping the Wolverines at Hutchins Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies clinched the series against Michigan with Saturday's win and improve to 8-0 in conference play.

The Wolverines struck first in the bottom of the second, sending a solo home run to left center. They notched a two-run homer in the bottom of the third to take a 3-0 lead, followed by a fielder's choice that led to another Michigan run.

Sophi Mazzola helped bring the Dawgs back in the game, smacking a three-run homer to cut the Husky deficit to 4-3.

Giselle Alvarez used an RBI double to help Alexis DeBoer score and tie things up at 4-4.

Continuing the comeback after falling down 0-4, Melody Acevedo gave Washington the first lead of the afternoon with her second home run of the season, a two-RBI home run.

Ryan Maddox and Allie Thomsen got time in the circle Saturday, with Morgan Reimer coming in and earning the win in the bottom of the fourth, the 16^th win of the season for the sophomore.

Reimer pitched four innings with five strikeouts to help the Huskies earn their 25^th win of the year.

Washington and Michigan will play the series finale on Sunday, March 22 at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET.
