
Washington Set For Matchups At Nebraska, No. 41 Iowa

SEATTLE – No. 21 Washington women's tennis heads to the Midwest for a pair of matches this weekend at Nebraska and No. 41 Iowa.
Friday's match at Nebraska will begin at 3 p.m. PT while Sunday's match at Iowa will start at 9 a.m. PT. Live stream and scoring information can be found on GoHuskies.com.
The Huskies are the lone undefeated team in the ITA Top 25 – and one of three in the Top 75 – with a 12-0 overall record and 3-0 mark in conference action.
DAWGS GETTING IT DONE ON ALL COURTS
Through the first 12 matches, Washington is a combined 69-11 across all courts in singles and doubles. UW is unbeaten in matches on Courts 1 and 2 in singles action and Court 2 in doubles.
DOUBLE DAWGS
Washington has won all 12 doubles points to start the season. The UW duos are a combined 25-3 in doubles action.
HUSKIES IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Washington is No. 21 in the latest ITA Team Rankings that came out on March 17. Three Huskies are in the ITA singles rankings in No. 64 Reece Carter, No. 70 Erika Matsuda and No. 103 Marie Weissheim. In the doubles rankings, Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit re-enter the Top 80 at No. 46.
B1G PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Erika Matsuda earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the second time this season on March 11. Alongside doubles partner Carina Syrtveit, the duo had a win against the 62nd-ranked doubles pair from Rutgers, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point. They also clinched the Maryland doubles point with a 6-3 win over the 23rd-ranked pair. Matsuda and Syrtveit are 10-1 on the No. 1 doubles court this season and 3-1 against ranked opponents.
In singles, Matsuda clinched the match win over No. 49 Maryland on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the 89th-ranked singles player. She is 5-0 in singles this season on the No. 1 court and currently ranked 64th in the ITA singles rankings.
HOME SWEET HOME
Under head coach Robin Stephenson, the Huskies are 111-29 in Seattle since 2015. The Huskies have posted double-digit home wins in four of the last five season, combining for 57 victories over that time.
SCOUTING THE CORNHUSKERS
Nebraska enters the weekend with an 8-5 overall record and 1-3 in conference play. Maria Taranova and Katie Spencer lead the team with six singles wins. Reya Lee Coe and Yuzu Miyoshi lead the team in doubles wins with five.
WASHINGTON VS. NEBRASKA HISTORY
Washington and Nebraska have split their two all-time meetings. The Huskies won their first conference meeting with the Cornhuskers last season 4-3 in Seattle. Erika Matsuda clinched the match on Court 2 in a three-set battle.
