
Huskies Head To Texas

SEATTLE – No. 23 Washington women's tennis travels to Waco, Texas for a pair of matches against Rice and Baylor Saturday and Sunday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
The Huskies enter the contest at 3-0. Rice is currently 3-2 on the season while Baylor is 2-1.
Live stats and streaming will be available for both matches. Both matches will begin at 10 a.m. PT.
Through the first three matches, Washington is a combined 20-5 across all courts in singles and doubles. UW has won all its matches on Courts 1-4 this season in singles action. The top doubles pair of Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit are 2-0.
Three Dawgs are ranking in the latest ITA Singles Rankings with No. 53 Reece Carter, No. 64 Matsuda and No. 115 Marie Weissheim.
Washington and Baylor have met eight times before, splitting the series 4-4. The last meeting came on Feb. 4, 2024 in Seattle with the Dawgs edging the Bears, 4-2. Baylor has three players ranking in the ITA Singles Rankings in No. 62 Na Dong, No. 89 Zuzanna Kubacha and No. 98 Mu Jietzeng. Baylor has two doubles pairs ranked in No. 70 Kennedy Gibbs/Na Dong and No. 71 Na Dong with Zuzanna Kubacha
The last and only meeting between Washington and Rice came on Feb. 22, 2009. The Huskies won the meeting 7-0. Rice has a doubles pair ranking in the latest ITA Rankings in No. 28 Darya Schwartzman and Uma Bakaityte.
