Game 1 – No. 24 Washington vs. CSUN
Early scoring was key for the Huskies, who registered six runs in the first inning against CSUN in the opening game on Saturday.
Leadoff hitter Jadyn Glab notched a single to kickstart the offense before Alexis DeBoer hit a home run to deep right field to put the first two Husky scores on the board.
Giselle Alvarez singled, Ally Hetzel singled, then Ava Carroll followed suit with a single of her own to bring in Alvarez.
Sophi Mazzola hit the second home run of the day, notching a three-RBI blast to deep center field to bring Hetzel and Carroll around the bases.
CSUN scored two runs in the bottom of the first but that was it for the Matadors, who recorded just five hits on the game.
Washington scored four more in the second inning to balloon the lead to 10-2, eventually the final score of the first game of the day.
Alvarez hit a two-RBI shot to deep centerfield to bring the lead to 8-2 in that second inning. Mazzola notched another hit in the form of a single to score Hetzel.
Melody Acevedo recorded her first hit of the day to score Jade Bubke, the tenth and final run for Washington.
Game 2 – No. 24 Washington vs. San Diego State
In a rematch with the Aztecs, San Diego State came out of the gates first this time around, homering a ball to deep center field.
The Huskies responded with a huge offensive push in the bottom of the first.
