January 05, 2026 | Softball
SEATTLE – Washington softball freshman Melody Acevedo was one of 100 freshmen named to D1 Softball's D100 Freshman Watch List, the organization announced Monday.
Acevedo, a 5-8 infielder from Riverside, Calif., played travel ball with Firecrackers Rico and high school ball with Hillcrest, where she helped her high school team to a state title her freshman season.
"We have a very talented incoming class, and Melody Acevedo represents that class very well," head coach Heather Tarr said. "She is a multi-tool athlete and will make an impact offensively and defensively for us."
Acevedo is one of nine freshmen making their Husky debut in 2026, along with Kaycie Burdick, Mila Reddy, Marley Teasley, Amira Rodriguez, Allie Thomsen, Ally Hetzel, Zuri Patterson and Grazia Mazzola.
