May 22, 2025 | Men's Tennis
SEATTLE – The Huskies were well represented in the final installment of the 2025 ITA men's tennis rankings. Washington finished ranked in the top-40, with seniors Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn making their final appearances in the poll.
The Dawgs finish the year ranked No. 37, matching their highest ranking from the year on the whole. This is the highest year-end ranking for the Dawgs since 2013 when UW finished at No. 36.
Washington finished 17-9 on the season, going 8-5 in the Big Ten and reaching the semifinals of the conference championships. UW returned to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2022, falling in the first round to Harvard.
Bouchelaghem finished up his senior season ranked No. 42 nationally. He becomes the 10th Husky to finish the year ranked in the top-50 nationally. It's the highest year-end ranking for a Husky since Clement Chidekh was ranked 14th at the end of 2021-22. Bouchelaghem played in the NCAA Singles Championships back in the fall, advancing to the second round. He was named All-Big Ten First Team and played every match at No. 1 singles this year, going 16-4.
Zharyn ranked No. 121 in the final poll. He played at No. 2 singles this season, going 15-5. This is the first time the Belarussian has been ranked in the final poll. Zharyn was the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Winner for the Huskies.
