SEATTLE – Four GymDawgs competed Friday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA championships at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Mary McDonough, Taylor Russon, Emily Innes and Chelsea Hallinan represented Washington as individual competitors, joining three gymnasts from Illinois State and four teams: Arizona, Arizona State, Missouri and Georgia.
In the first rotation, three Huskies saw action. McDonough began her all-around with a 9.800 on beam. Russon earned an 8.600 on bars, and Innes scored a 9.750 on floor.
Russon bounced back in the second rotation with a 9.900 on beam, while McDonough continued her strong outing with a 9.850 on floor.
Hallinan, competing solely on beam, delivered a standout 9.875 in the third rotation. McDonough followed with a 9.875 on vault, matching her career high.
McDonough closed her meet with a 9.900 on bars, tying her career best. Innes wrapped up with a 9.800 on beam.

The four Huskies will await the results of Sunday's regional final to learn if their postseason continues. UW's competing individuals will need to post the highest individual event score among non-qualifying teams to advance.
