
Huskies Stay Hot, Defeat Indiana 4-0 In First Outdoor Home Match

SEATTLE β The No. 20 Washington women's tennis team (14-2, 7-1 Big Ten) earned its fifth straight conference win Sunday afternoon at Bill Quillian Tennis Stadium, sweeping Indiana 4-0.
Doubles play finished swiftly, with the second and third courts picking up wins to clinch the doubles point.
Erika Matsuda put the second point on the board for the Huskies, defeating Indiana's Nicole Teodosescu in straight sets 6-3, 7-5. The junior finished the weekend 4-0 after also winning 6-3 at No. 2 doubles with Sophie Luescher.
Next came Reece Carter, taking down the Hoosiers' Lara Schneider 6-2, 6-1 to earn her 10th win of the season and push the Huskies up 3-0.

Carina Syrtveit clinched with a 6-2, 7-5 win on court six over Elisabeth Dunac, as the freshman improved to 11-4 in singles play.
Alexia Jacobs, McKenna Koenig, and Luescher's matches were each midway through a third set when Syrtveit clinched.
The Huskies will welcome Pepperdine for a non-conference matchup on Friday, April 4 at noon before hosting the Oregon Ducks on Saturday.
