Lu Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer Of The Week

SEATTLE – After a stellar performance at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational this week, sophomore Vivian Lu has been named Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Friday afternoon.
This is the first Big Ten honor for Lu and first for the Huskies this season.
Lu led the Dawgs to their first top finish of the season in Maui this week at Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course, as the team was crowned tournament champions (-19) after three days of impressive performances.
The sophomore led the charge in a tie for co-champion of the tournament with Gonzaga's Grace Lee (-11), her first time this season at the top of the player leaderboard for UW.
Lu recorded three straight rounds under-par, with her best performance coming in the second round as she shot seven-under to lead Washington.
"Very deserving and a nice honor for Viv," head coach Mary Lou Mulflur said. "Let's hope she earns a couple more these next few weeks!"
