SEATTLE – The Beach Dawgs are ready to dig back into the sand this Friday after a one-week break for finals week. The 19th-ranked Huskies spend Spring Break in Tempe, Ariz. for the ASU/GCU Invitational at the ASU Beach Volleyball courts where they will face UAB, ASU, and South Carolina.
Friday, the Huskies have a double-header against UAB at 12:00 p.m. and then they face 12th-ranked Arizona State for the first time this season at 4:00 p.m. Washington will wrap up the trip on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against South Carolina.
Washington is 9-8 with five of its eight losses this season coming in 2-3 decisions.
The Blazers of UAB are 10-6 overall with a ranked win to its credit, beating No. 20 Georgia State on Mar. 14. UAB also had a 2-3 loss to the Gamecocks, who the Dawgs will also face.
Arizona State just earned a 5-0 sweep of rival Arizona on Wednesday to improve to 10-8 this season.
South Carolina is 8-5 on the season. Washington had a 3-2 win over South Carolina back in 2023.
