
Washington Heads To Los Angeles For Battle For LA

SEATTLE – No. 16 Washington beach volleyball is headed to Los Angeles to compete in the Battle For LA tournament on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1.
The Huskies will open the tournament Friday at Loyola Marymount, facing CSUN at 12:00 p.m. PT, followed by a matchup against No. 2 Loyola Marymount at 2:00 p.m. PT.
On Saturday, Washington will compete at USC's Merle Norman Stadium, taking on No. 3 USC at 10:00 a.m. PT and No. 8 Long Beach State at 2:00 p.m. PT. Saturday's matches will be streamed on B1G+. The matchup with USC marks Washington's first conference match in the inaugural MPSF season.
Last weekend, Washington opened its 2025 season in Tampa, Florida, finishing 2-2 in matches against FAU, Tampa, Georgia State, and FIU. Three of the matches were decided by a 3-2 score, with the Huskies securing one victory in those close contests. The Huskies saw seven new faces in the lineup, with at least one newcomer in each pair. Teila Allen and Jade Sadeiko were the Huskies' standout duo, going 4-0, including a dual-clinching, third-set thriller against No. 13 Georgia State. The win over Georgia State marked the Huskies' first victory over a ranked opponent this season.
