
Huskies Sign Graduate Student Goalkeeper Stockton Short

SEATTLE - Following the first national championship in program history, the Huskies have already begun bolstering the squad ahead of the 2026 season. Washington has signed Stockton Short, a graduate student goalkeeper who will be joining the team ahead of next fall's season.
Short, a four-year letterman at Utah Tech, joins a Husky team who will be looking for its new starting stopper following the departure of College Cup Most Outstanding Defensive Player Jadon Bowton.
Most recently, Short was selected by the Seattle Sounders in the third round of the 2026 MLS draft at pick No. 86.
In his four years with the Trailblazers, Short has featured in 47 games, including 18 starts in both his sophomore and junior years. He's amassed a total of 210 saves, which includes a career-high 105 in 2024.
Short concludes his career at Utah Tech ranking third in the record book in goalkeeper minutes (4,120), third in saves (210), third in goals against average (1.45), and fourth in shutouts (7). He has four WAC Goalkeeper of the Week awards to his name and his save total in 2024 had him tied for the most saves in the nation.
A native of Pleasant View, Utah, Short has a ties to the Pacific Northwest after competing with Ballard FC during the 2025 USL 2 season.
