October 08, 2025 | Men's Basketball
ROSEMONT, Ill. β Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle and guards Desmond Claude and Zoom Diallo will take part in Big Ten Men's Basketball Media Day on Thursday, being held at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicagoland.
Β
Washington will begin its rotation at 11:00 a.m. CT/9:00 a.m. PT. Sprinkle, Claude and Diallo will visit the Big Ten Network set beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT/11:30 p.m. PT, airing live on BTN.
Β
Sprinkle is entering his second season on Montlake, revamping the Husky roster with On3's No. 3 ranked transfer class, with four additions with Big Ten experience, including Claude. The Dawgs also bring back two starters from last season's team in Diallo and Franck Kepnang.
Β
Claude, who was voted All-Big Ten Honorable Mention by the media and received NABC All-Pacific District plaudits, paced USC in 2024-25 at 15.8 points per game, the 12th-highest average in the Big Ten, on 48.2 percent shooting. Claude also led USC at over 4.2 assists per game.
Claude eclipsed the 30-point mark twice for the Trojans a season ago, hanging 30 on the road at Rutgers and dropping 31 in USC's road upset at No. 13 Illinois. In Washington's visit to Los Angeles, the Connecticut native posted a double double with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Β
One of two returners from last season's Husky squad, Diallo enjoyed a successful true freshman campaign playing for his hometown school. The Tacoma product averaged 11.1 points per game on 47.3 percent shooting from the floor, dishing out 2.7 assist per game to rank second on the team.
Β
Diallo, who joined the Dawgs as a heralded top-50 recruit and Washington Gatorade Player of the Year out of Curtis High School, stepped up his game in Big Ten play. The 6-4 guard averaged 11.2 points and 3.1 assists per game in league play, ranking second on the team in both categories.
Β
Washington fans will have the chance to preview the new-look Huskies on Oct. 19 as UW hosts UNLV in an exhibition at Alaska Airlines Arena, kicking off the regular season on Nov. 3 at home against UAPB.
