Allen, Pantovic Win All-Husky Alki Final

SEATTLE – Washington snagged both of the tickets to the AVCA National Pairs Championship that were on the line at this weekend's Alki Fall Classic, as it was an all Beach Dawg final at Alki Beach today. Teila Allen and Katarina Pantovic came out with the win over teammates Ella Tyus and Zoe Pabarcus, and both duos will get to compete at the fall national pairs tourney next month in Alabama.
Allen and Pantovic also had to get past teammates Sarah Wilcock and Emma Hohenauer in the semifinals, and that went right down to the wire, with Allen and Pantovic prevailing in extra points in the third set, 21-13, 18-21, 17-15.
Tyus and Pabarcus defeated Boise State's Allen/Anderson in the other semifinal, 21-19, 21-13, to set up the all-UW final.
Allen and Pantovic earned the win in the final, 21-13, 21-15.
The AVCA Pairs tourney will wrap up the fall, but the next tourney for the Beach Dawgs will be the West Coast Championships in Manhattan Beach, Calif. next weekend.
