
Scott Coil Named Senior Associate AD For Finance

SEATTLE – The University of Washington Department of Athletics has named Scott Coil as its new Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance, Director of Athletics Pat Chun announced today.
Coil joins the department on a full-time basis after serving in an interim capacity since April 2025, while also serving as the University's Director of University Budget Planning & Operations.
"We are excited to welcome Scott Coil to Husky Athletics," said Pat Chun, UW's Director of Athletics. "Scott's deep understanding of UW's financial systems, combined with his strategic vision and institutional knowledge, has already proven invaluable to our department."
Coil has been part of the University of Washington since 2013, beginning with the Meany Center for the Performing Arts before joining the UW Finance Transformation project team in 2019. There, he led budget process transformation initiatives, including the deployment of the University's Workday Adaptive Planning tool in 2022. From there, he joined the Finance, Planning and Budgeting team to continue to manage Workday Adaptive Planning and lead the University's annual operating budget development process.
Prior to his time at UW, Coil held several leadership roles in finance and operations, culminating in his appointment as Managing Director of the non-profit Kirkland Performance Center, where he provided strategic oversight of the organization's operations and budgeting processes.
A proud transplant to Seattle from the southwest, Coil earned his undergraduate degree in Music from Seattle Pacific University and his MBA from the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, with an emphasis in accounting, finance, and strategy.
