Five Transfers Join Incoming Beach Class

SEATTLE – Head Coach Derek Olson has put together another eclectic and experienced mix of talent to keep the Beach Dawgs in the hunt for another NCAA Championship appearance in 2025. Olson announced five transfers today, making for a total of seven new Huskies.
Teila Allen (San Jose State), Hannah Doyle (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), Katarina Pantovic (U. of British Columbia), Jade Sadeiko (Florida International), and Alina Urzua (Stetson) are the new transfer class, joining with previously announced freshmen recruits Emma Hohenaur and Niki Egan.
"We are really excited with the transfers that we are bringing in. This group of athletes have a lot of experience and upside. I really enjoyed each of their visits because they all seem like they are here for the right reasons and will be great additions to our culture. I'm eager to start working with them to help them achieve their goals on and off the court."
Teila Allen
Clayton, Wash. | High School: Mt. Spokane H.S. | Previous College: San Jose State
At San Jose State in 2024, Allen and partner Cheyenne Rice led the Spartans in wins with 16, including a 15-9 record at the No. 2 position. Teila was the Greater Spokane League MVP in 2021.
Hannah Doyle
Phoenix, Ariz. | High School: Sandra Day O'Connor H.S. | Previous College: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Named to the Southland Conference First Team at flight three in 2024 where she went 21-8, and also was 3-0 at the No. 2 position for the Islanders. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi reached the NCAA Championships, falling to UCLA in round one, with Doyle starting at the No. 3 spot.
Katarina Pantovic
Vancouver, B.C. | High School: Lord Byng Secondary | Previous Colleges: U. of British Columbia (2022-24); California (2021-22)
Pantovic has extensive indoor experience as well as competing in the sand. She began her college career at Cal, where as a freshman in 2020 she ranked second on the team with 155 kills. She trained with the Bears beach team as well before transferring to UBC in her hometown of Vancouver, where she played two more seasons indoors as an outside hitter.
Jade Sadeiko
Sarevere, Estonia | High School Jaan Poska Gumnaasium | Previous Colleges: Florida International (2021-23); Oregon (2019-21)
Sadeiko was an All-Conference USA First Team selection indoors last fall for FIU, leading the team with 337 kills and playing in every set. In three seasons she totaled 601 kills for the Panthers and 270 digs. That was after two seasons at Oregon, playing indoors and beach. Came to the U.S. from Estonia for college in August of 2019.
Alina Urzua
Santa Barbara, Calif. | High School: Bishop Garcia Diego H.S. | Previous College: Stetson
A key starter for the Stetson Hatters squad that reached the ASUN tournament championship final and finished the season ranked 20th nationally. Urzua played at the No. 4 spot during the conference tournament.
