June 05, 2024 | Men's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. – Capping a stellar career in Purple and Gold, Washington's Petr Hruby was named a PING Honorable Mention All-American on Wednesday, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Â
Hruby is Washington's first PING All-American since 2022 and the third Husky to receive the prestigious honor in the last five years, joining RJ Manke (2022) and Noah Woolsey (2020). Hruby is the 23rd different Husky all-time to be named a GCAA All-American, dating back to 1961.
Â
A watch list honoree for the Fred Haskins and Ben Hogan Awards, Hruby collects the first All-American nod of his career after a sensational fifth-year season. The Czech Republic native earned seven top-10 finishes this season, with 14 rounds in the 60's.
Â
Hurby solidified himself as Washington's most consistent player all year long as the Huskies ranked inside the top-10 for the majority of the season. Hruby led UW in scoring in six of 13 events on the season and was inside the top-two on all but four occasions.
Â
In five seasons in Seattle, Hruby posted 63 rounds under par, including 44 rounds in the 60s. The Bishop Gates Golf Academy product racked up 15 top-10 finishes overall.
