
Skylar Killough-Wilhelm Earns Career-High All-Around, Leads Huskies To Season-Best Score Against Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Washington gymnastics team continued the upward scoring trend this season as the Huskies earned a season-best 196.500 Monday night at Maples Pavilion on Stanford's campus.
Washington finished second on the evening, with the Cardinal also earning their season-high score to lead the Dawgs, 196.875-196.500.
The GymDawgs earned the first of three 49+ scores as they started out on uneven bars and earned a 49.075 to take an early lead after one rotation.
Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, who finished the night securing the best all-around score of her career (39.575), notched a 9.875 or higher on all four events and finished first all-around.
The senior earned a season-high 9.900 on bars to lead her team on the first rotation. She then followed it up with back-to-back 9.875s on vault and floor, matching her season-best on vault.
Lilly Tubbs tied her season-best 9.850 on bars in the leadoff spot for the second straight meet.
Stanford found success in its bars rotation with four 9.85+ scores to notch a 49.350 and take a slight lead halfway through the meet.
Killough-Wilhelm's 9.875 vault led the Dawgs, followed up by Emily Innes' 9.850.
Innes dominated on the final two rotations. Her 9.875 on floor was enough to tie for second on the event, marking the third straight meet she has earned a 9.875 or higher on the floor.
Innes tied with Killough-Wilhelm for second on the floor exercise to lead Washington's rotation with 9.875s.
Emily Pires earned herself a season-high 9.850 on floor in the leadoff position, as she also made her debut on vault.
The BeamDawgs made up for the second lowest floor score of the year, earning a season-high 49.375 on the final rotation.
Taylor Russon shined on the balance beam, exceeding her previously-set career-best beam score of 9.875 with a 9.925.
The senior duo of Russon and Killough-Wilhelm tied for first with 9.925s on beam. Chelsea Hallinan came in third, earning herself a new career-best 9.900 in her usual leadoff position.
Innes contributed a 9.850 on beam to match her career-best that she set earlier this season at Iowa.
Lilly Tubbs also notched a 9.850 in an exhibition beam routine to go along with her 9.850 on bars earlier in the evening.
The Cardinal, who only had five competitors in their final floor rotation, needed to land every routine to hold on to their narrow lead and they did, earning 9.850+ on four of five performances.
The Cardinal finished in first place with a 196.875 to the Huskies' 196.500.
