Washington Loses Tough Fight At No. 13 Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – Washington women's basketball (15-13, 5-12 Pac-12) fought until the very end, but lost 62-68 in a close one at No. 13 Colorado (21-7, 11-6 Pac-12) Thursday night in Boulder, Colo.
There was no quit in the Dawgs as they battled throughout the game.
"I'm proud of the fight this team showed tonight," head coach Tina Langley said. "There's a lot of good to take away to help us prepare for what's ahead."
Elle Ladine made a layup to get the game's scoring started. She finished with 16 points and five rebounds.
Lauren Schwartz drained two three-pointers in the first quarter. She would go on to finish 4-4 from three and lead the team in scoring with 18 points. In the fourth quarter, Schwartz surpassed another impressive career milestone, recording 1,500 career points.
Dalayah Daniels was another Husky in double-digit scoring, posting 13 points and a game-leading eight rebounds. In the fourth quarter, Daniels had her second block of the night to record career block No. 150.
The fourth Husky in double digits was freshman Sayvia Sellers, who, with 46 seconds left in the game, converted her second steal-and-score play of the game to cut the gap to five points. Sellers finished with 13 points, three steals, and four rebounds.
The Huskies went on a 7-0 run in the third quarter, and outscored the Buffaloes 15-9 in the fourth quarter, refusing to go away.
Washington shot 45.3% while holding Colorado to below their average season and conference field goal percentages.
Next up, Washington concludes the regular season in Salt Lake City at No. 18 Utah on Saturday, March 2 at 11 a.m. PT/12 p.m. MT.
