GymDawgs Finish Fourth In Metroplex Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Washington Huskies gymnastics team came in fourth at the Metroplex Challenge Saturday night, earning a team score of 196.450.

The Huskies went up against three of the nation's top 20 teams in Fort Worth, Texas – including the top two teams Oklahoma and Cal.
Â
Oklahoma finished in first place, earning a score of 198.300. Cal came in second with 197.400 and Arkansas third with 196.800.

The Huskies started on beam where they earned their only score below 49, but were driven by a bright spot that was Deiah Moody's season-high 9.875.

After the second rotation, Washington was in third place thanks for a 49.175 floor rotation and a 48.650 beam rotation for Arkansas.

Emily Innes earned a team-high 9.900 on floor. Skylar Killough-Wilhelm earned 9.875s on both floor and bars on the evening.

The GymDawgs weren't able to find their flow on vault, but Mary McDonough improved her score from her first vault last meet, earning a 9.825.

Killough-Wilhelm and Lilly Tubbs led the way on bars to help the Huskies tie their season high 49.250 on the event, both notching 9.875s.

Tonight was the Huskies' second highest score of the season, behind a 196.500 they earned on the road at Stanford.

The Huskies are on the road down to the desert to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. The meet will be on Pac-12 Networks.
