LOS ANGELES – Washington men's soccer clinched the 4-seed heading into the Big Ten Tournament following a 1-0 victory over No. 25 UCLA on Sunday afternoon at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
The Huskies close out the regular season on a four-match win streak and an overall record of 8-4-5 (4-3-3 Big Ten).
Since the 2019 season, the Huskies are 16-5-7 against ranked opponents in the regular season. This season, UW is 4-3-3 against the Top 25.
Jadon Bowton recorded a career-high six saves on the afternoon on his way to his third consecutive clean sheet. Bowton and the Husky defense have held opponents scoreless in the last 296 minutes, last conceding a goal against Penn State in the 64th minute on October 18.
After a scoreless 45 minutes of action, the Huskies broke through. Alex Hall connected with Zach Ramsey to give the Dawgs a 1-0 lead in the 78th minute. It is the second goal of the year for Ramsey.
Up next, the Huskies head to Chicago for their first-ever appearance in the Big Ten Tournament. UW will open action on Thursday against 5-seed Michigan State.
