UW Announces Women's Rowing Schedule For Inaugural B1G Season
November 27, 2024 | Women's Rowing
The Washington women's rowing team will enter a new era in the spring of 2025, when the program's move to the Big Ten Conference will take shape more fully.
Washington opens the 2025 season with the annual Husky Open Regatta, March 8, on Montlake. That's followed by the traditional start of the spring season, the 124th annual Class Day Regatta, March 22.
The following weekend, the Huskies travel south to the annual San Diego Crew Classic, where they'll square off against many of the nation's top programs.
The month of April will include two major tests for Washington. First, April 18-19, is the Big Ten Invitational, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. Then, on April 26, the UW women will join the men's programs for The Dual, the annual matchup with California, where the Simpson Cup will be award to the women's varsity eight winner.
May gets underway in the traditional manner, with the Windermere Cup and Opening Day Regatta, on the first weekend of the month. First, on Friday, May 2, is the Twilight Sprints, on Montlake Cut. The following day, the nation's top one-day regatta returns, capped by the Windermere Cup races.
The Huskies' first foray into the Big Ten Championships will be May 17-18, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two weekends later, the season comes to a close with the NCAA Championships, which will be held this year at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J.
