Odunze, McMillan Named To Biletnikoff Award Watch List
August 07, 2023 | Football
Washington wide receivers Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan have been named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.
Odunze, a junior from Las Vegas, led the Huskies in 2022 with 1,144 receiving yards and second in receptions (75). In addition, Odunze led the Pac-12 in reception yards on his way to being named All-Pac-12 First Team and an AP All-America Third Team. This preseason, he has been named an All-America First Team selection by Athlon, Walter Camp and Phil Steele. Odunze was also named to the Maxwell Award preseason watch list last week.
McMillan, a preseason Athlon Second Team All-American, returns to Washington after finishing the 2022 season with 1,098 receiving yards which was seventh-most in program history. His 79 receptions were fourth-most in program history and tied for third in the Pac-12.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.
