Huskies Fall To San Diego, 2-0

SEATTLE – Washington (1-1) dropped its first contest of the season in a 2-0 decision against San Diego on Sunday at Husky Soccer Stadium.
With five minutes left in the first half, San Diego scored the first goal of the match on a set piece with Kevin Pena taking the kick and sending it in to Olive Rhodes.
San Diego added an insurance goal in the 81st minute for the eventual final of 2-0.
The Huskies were able to force eight corners in the second half but were unable to capitalize. Imanol Rosales led the team with three shots – two on goal. Nate Jones, Chris Meyers, Peter Kingston, Christian Soto, Charlie Kosakoff, Nick O'Brien and Bryan Iliohan all registered shots.
Up next, the Huskies hit the road for a Big Ten road trip, opening at Indiana on Friday night with a 5 p.m. PT kickoff on Big Ten Network before heading to Ohio State on Monday.
