
Fowler, Soto Named To MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

SEATTLE – Washington men's soccer goalkeeper Sam Fowler and midfielder Christian Soto were named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, United Soccer Coaches announced today.
The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. To view the entire watch list, click here.
Fowler, a senior goalkeeper, started in 14 games last season and posted a 0.80 goals against average. He recorded 30 saves and guided Washington to an 11-2-1 record while in goal with four shutouts. Ove his UW career, Fowler has recorded 25 shutouts – fourth most in program history. His career 0.74 goals against average ranks second.
Soto, a 2022 first team all-conference selection, returns to the Huskies after scoring four goals. In the season opener, Soto netted a career-high two goals on his way to being named Pac-12 Player of the Week. Earlier this week, Top Drawer Soccer ranked Soto as the top ranked player heading into the season.
Fifteen men's players and 15 women's players will become Hermann Trophy semifinalists following completion of Division I All-America voting at the end of the fall season. On December 6th, the three women's finalists will be announced and on December 13th, the men's three finalists will be released.
