SEATTLE – No. 7-seed Washington kicked off the Super Regional with an 8-0 five inning win over Louisiana on Friday night at a sold out Husky Softball Stadium.

After four quiet innings, the Huskies came out swinging. Jadelyn Allchin led off with a hit by pitch and advanced to second on a Kelley Lynch sacrifice bunt. SilentRain Espinoza followed with an RBI double for the first run of the game. Sydney Stewart smashed her second home run of the season for a 3-0. Alana Johnson had the third straight hit for Washington and Rylee Holtorf crushed a home run out to straight away center to take a 5-0 advantage.
With two outs in the fifth, Espinoza had her second hit of the night. Megan Vandegrift came in to pinch run. Stewart followed with a single of her own and advanced to second on the throw. Alana Johnson then followed with a base hit and came around to third on a couple of Louisiana errors, plating two runs. Holtorf ended the game with an RBI single.
