May 19, 2023 | General, Washington Athletics Staff Central
SEATTLE – Over the course of three days, Washington Athletics connected with the Greater Seattle community by providing assistance, service, and support to local organizations in need.
The first ever Husky Committed Service Week included 180 UW Athletics staff, coaches and student-athletes dedicating more than 850 hours to eight non-profit organizations.
The week began with a clothing drive and followed with a hygiene and backpack drive which benefited Treehouse, Ronald McDonald House and Boys and Girls Club. Committed Service Week concluded with groups cleaning U District streets for Adopt a Street and volunteering at Mary's Place, PAWS and West Side Baby.
Committed service is one of the four core values of UW Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) along with grit, growth mindset and humility.
