#25 GymDawgs to Compete in Texas Woman’s Quad Meet Sunday

SEATTLE – #25 Washington gymnastics (4-10, 0-6 Pac-12) travels to Denton, Texas for a quad meet with host Texas Woman's, No. 3 Florida, and NC State. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. PT.

HUSKIES SO FAR
The GymDawgs are sitting at No. 25 in the Road to Nationals rankings heading into the final week of competition before Pac-12 Championships on March 18.
Washington's NQS is 196.530 and the team is currently ranked in the top 30 in each event. The GymDawgs are No. 21 on vault, No. 23 on bars, No. 30 on beam, and No. 29 on floor.
Last time out, Washington finished third in the P&G Classic in Baton Rouge with #6 LSU, #7 Cal, and George Washington. The team earned a 196.000, including a season-high 49.475 bars score, marking Washington's highest bars score since 2019 and fourth highest in program history.
At P&G, Lana Navarro earned a season-high 9.850 on her vault. Lilly Tubbs and Morgan Bowles both set career-high bars scores, earning a 9.950 and 9.925, respectively.
THE COMPETITION – No. 3 Florida
Florida (9-2, 6-1 SEC) is ranked No. 5 on vault, No. 2 on bars, No. 4 on beam, and No. 7 on floor. They are averaging a score of 197.872 and have a 197.920 NQS.
The Gators last competed in a dual with No. 1 Oklahoma where they were narrowly edged out, 197.700 - 197.950. This was only one of two losses this season for Florida, whose only other loss was against LSU on Feb. 17, 197.975 - 198.100.
Washington last matchup with Florida was in the 2019 Corvallis Regional, where the Gators won the meet with a 197.500. The Huskies finished sixth with a 195.900.
THE COMPETITION – Texas Woman's University
Texas Woman's (8-9) is No. 56 in the Road to Nationals rankings, averaging a 193.868 and sitting with a 194.540 NQS. They are No. 51 on vault, No. 61 on bars, No. 53 on beam, and No. 51 on floor.
In their most recent meet on March 4, the Pioneers scored a season-high 195.650 in the Rose City Classic against Centenary College.
Washington competed last with Texas Woman's at a tri-meet with Michigan on Jan. 10, 2020. Washington finished closely behind Michigan with a 195.350 and Texas Woman's earned a 189.850.
THE COMPETITION – NC State
North Carolina State (11-6, 8-4 ACC) is ranked No. 27 in the Road to Nationals rankings, coming off a season-high score of 197.225 in a win over Rutgers (196.225) on March 4.
NC State sits at No. 31 on vault, No. 30 on bars, No. 29 on beam, and No. 23 on floor.
Washington last met with NC State in 2018 at the Metroplex Challenge quad meet with UCLA and LSU, where the GymDawgs finished third and NC State finished fourth.
