
GymDawgs Finish Third at P&G Classic, Earn Highest Bars Score Since 2019

BATON ROUGE, LA -- The Washington gymnastics team (4-10, 0-6 Pac-12) finished third in the Purple & Gold Classic in Baton Rouge, La, Friday evening, earning a 196.000 even. Â
No. 6 LSU finished first in competition, earning a 197.700. No. 7 Cal came in at a close second with 197.675 and George Washington University earned a 195.125. Â
The GymDawgs followed their typical pattern of scoring, increasing event scores with each rotation. They struggled on beam where they earned a 48.325, led with high scores from Skylar Killough-Wilhelm with a 9.875 and Deiah Moody's 9.825. Â
Washington finished with a 49.050 on floor. Amara Cunningham performed in her usual fashion notching a 9.900 in the anchor spot, followed by Killough-Wilhelm with a 9.825. Â
The duo also performed big for the GymDawgs on vault, with Killough-Wilhelm earning a team-high 9.875 and Cunningham a 9.825 to convert a 49.150 team score. Â
Lana Navarro earned a new vault season-high 9.850 on vault in her third routine of the evening.Â
Washington then made their way to bars where the squad made a splash, earning their highest bars score since the 2019 season with a 49.475. Â
Deiah Moody led things off for the Dawgs, tying her season-high 9.850. Brenna Brooks and Taylor Russon earned 9.825s following Moody.Â
Lilly Tubbs earned a new career-high 9.950, besting her previous high of 9.875. Killough-Wilhelm tied her career-high right after Tubbs, earning a 9.925. Morgan Bowles completed the show with a new career-best 9.925 in the anchor position. Â
