
#23 Gymnastics Travels to Baton Rouge for P&G Classic

SEATTLE – Washington gymnastics (4-9, 0-6 Pac-12) is headed to Baton Rouge, La for a quad meet with #6 LSU, #7 Cal, and George Washington on Friday, March 3. Competition will begin at 4 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. CT.
The meet will not be live streamed, but live scoring will be available at meetscoresonline.com.
HUSKIES SO FAR
Washington moved up three spots in the Road to Nationals rankings, now sitting at No. 23. They are ranked No. 22 on vault, No. 24 on bars, No. 28 on beam, and No. 27 on floor.
The GymDawgs are coming off a season-high 197.250 score against then-No. 22 Arizona State on Feb. 26, notching their highest team score since Feb. 21, 2022, against Utah (197.275).
The team also earned their highest floor score of the season (49.475) against Arizona State, which was their highest floor score since the 2020 season. Amara Cunningham led the way on floor, earning a 9.975 (including a 10 from one judge). Skylar Killough-Wilhelm earned a career-high 9.950 on floor, and Emily Innes also earned a career-high 9.925.
THE COMPETITION – No. 6 LSU
LSU is ranked in the top 10 in all four events -- No. 2 on vault, No. 7 on bars, No. 10 on beam, and No. 4 on floor.
The Tigers are 4-5 on the season, 4-3 in the SEC. Their last win came against then-No. 9 Alabama on the road where they scored a road season-high 197.975.
The time before that, LSU handed Florida their first loss of the season after besting the Gators 198.100 - 197.975.
The GymDawgs last saw the Tigers in the 2021 Regionals at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah where LSU earned a 197.025. Four individuals competed for Washington: Allie Smith on vault, Geneva Thompson on vault and bars, Amara Cunningham on vault and floor, and Skylar Killough-Wilhelm on all-around.
THE COMPETITION – No. 7 CAL
Cal is 9-1-2 on the season and 3-1-2 in the Pac-12 with their only loss coming against Utah (Feb. 24), 197.550 - 198.550.
The Golden Bears are ranked No. 14 on vault, No. 3 on bars, No. 5 on beam, and No. 12 on floor. They currently sit third in the Pac-12 conference behind No. 3 Utah and No. 11 Oregon State.
The last dual featuring Cal and Washington took place on Jan. 22, 2022, where the GymDawgs lost 195.450 - 196.675.
THE COMPETITION – GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington is No. 37 in the Road to Nationals rankings, averaging a 195.690. GWU ranks No. 20 on vault, No. 39 on bars, No. 34 on beam, and No. 36 on floor.
Last time out, GWU scored its highest road score of the season, earning a 196.400 and finishing second in a quad meet with Towson, William & Mary, and Fisk.
The Huskies last met with George Washington at the 2021 Regionals, where both teams brought individual competitors.
NEXT UP
The GymDawgs will head to Texas Woman's University for another quad meet with Texas Woman's, No. 2 Florida, and NC State. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. PT.
