Johnny Tincher Named to Preseason All-Pac-12 Team

SAN FRANCISCO – On Wednesday, the Pac-12 announced its preseason all-conference team, with Washington catcher Johnny Tincher representing the Huskies on the vaunted list.
A redshirt junior who is entering his fourth season behind the plate for UW, Tincher earned All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team laurels last season after appearing in 54 games with 52 starts.
The Sylmar, California, native batted .314 during the 2022 campaign, the second highest average of any Husky. Tincher drove in 35 runs and scored 27 more while posting 19 extra-base hits, including 13 doubles, five home runs and a triple. He also drew 28 free passes on 18 walks and 10 HBPs.
Defensively, Tincher threw out 10 of 31 runners attempting to swipe a bag last season, while garnering a .989 fielding percentage.
In addition to the preseason all-conference team, the Pac-12 also announced its preseason coaches poll on Wednesday, with Washington projected to finish 7th in the league standings.
