Big Ten Announces 2024 Husky Football Conference Schedule
November 02, 2023 | Football
Washington's 2024 conference schedule has been revealed today by the Big Ten Conference, which announced schedules for all 18 members for the coming fall.
The Huskies' 2024 schedule includes games against all three other programs that are departing the Pac-12 for the Big Ten: USC, UCLA and Oregon, along with six other games against longstanding Big Ten foes.
All listed dates are Saturdays. However, in coming weeks, some games (conference-wide) could still be moved to special dates, like the Sunday before Labor Day, the day after Thanksgiving, etc.
Additionally, UW's non-conference schedule will be finalized as soon as possible. The yet-to-be-determined third game will be slotted into one of the three current open weeks.
The Huskies' first-ever conference game as a member of the Big Ten will come Sept. 21 at Husky Stadium, when Northwestern makes its first visit to Montlake since 1984. It will be just the fourth meeting of the two teams.
The following weekend, UW travels to Rutgers. The Huskies played a home-and-home series with the Scarlett Knights in 2016 (at UW) and 2017 (at Rutgers). On Oct. 5, Michigan makes its long-awaited return to Husky Stadium, as the Wolverines' scheduled visit in 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic. It will be the 14th UW-Michigan game, and the first in Seattle since 2001.
That game is followed by Washington's second-ever trip to Iowa, where the Dawgs last traveled in 1964. The Huskies and Hawkeyes have played six times, the last three in bowl games.
After an open weekend, the Dawgs head to Indiana for the first time since 1978 for what will be just their fourth-ever game against the Hoosiers.
November opens with a visit from old rival USC, followed by a cross-country trip to Happy Valley to take on Penn State on Nov. 9. The Huskies and Nittany Lions have played just three times, two of those coming in bowl games, and never at Beaver Stadium.
The final two games of the season – Nov. 16 at home vs. UCLA and Nov. 30 on the road at Oregon, cap the season with two familiar foes.
The 2024 Big Ten Football Championship Game will be played Dec. 7 in Indianapolis.
