November 19, 2023 | Volleyball
BOULDER, Colo. – Colorado knocked off the Husky volleyball team in straight sets at the CU Events Center today, as the Huskies (15-14, 6-12 Pac-12) dropped their final road match of the regular season. Madi Endsley led the Dawgs with a dozen kills.
Colorado (15-14, 7-11 Pac-12) got a key 26-24 win in the first set and then pulled away late in set two, 25-20. The Huskies had rallied from 0-2 down to win at Utah on Friday but this time they dug themselves a big third set hole. Washington was down 9-19 in the third before fighting back within four points at 17-21. But Colorado then got the final four points to finish the sweep, 25-17.
The Huskies hit just .149 for the match while Colorado was more consistent at .304. Washington had six blocks but the Buffs had eight, and Colorado had a 5-2 edge in aces and a 36-31 advantage in digs.
Endsley hit .259 for her 12 kills, but no other Husky had more than six kills. Elise Hani had six kills and four blocks. Kayce Litzau had 18 assists and Molly Wilson had 12.
UP NEXT: Washington has one week remaining and needs to win both to have any hope of earning an NCAA tourney bid. Next Wednesday, in an early 3 p.m. start, the Huskies host Arizona in their first meeting this season. Then on Friday, Nov. 24, it's the Boeing Apple Cup Series rematch against Washington State at 7 p.m.
