October 09, 2023 | Women's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball junior forward Dalayah Daniels has been named to the 2023-24 Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team as an Honorable Mention, the conference announced today.
The preseason team is selected by 27 media members who cover the league.
Daniels returns for her second season with Washington after a stellar 2022-23 campaign, where she was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. After helping lead the Huskies to their first postseason appearance since 2017, and advancing to the WNIT Fab 4 – the farthest ever in program history – she was also named to the 2023 Postseason WNIT All-Tournament Team. During the tournament, Daniels averaged 12.6 points and 10.2 rebounds, leading the team in both categories, and also led the team in blocks (13) and steals (8).
Daniels started in all 34 games last season for the Huskies, and led the team in points per game (11.3), rebounds per game (6.7), and blocks (52), and she recorded eight double-doubles. Her 52 blocks on the season ranked No. 5 on the UW Top 10 single-season list.
In Pac-12 games played, Daniels ranked No. 17 in the conference in rebounding (5.56/game), No. 5 in field goal percentage (51.2%), and No. 5 in blocked shots (22).
The Huskies open the 2023-24 season on Monday, Nov. 6 at Alaska Airlines Arena for a regular season non-conference matchup vs. Sacramento State.
