UW's Boyd Tied For Fifth After Second Round At Blessings

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. β Washington golfer Camille Boyd continued her solid play at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, carding a 2-under 70 in Tuesday's second round to finish the day in a tie for fifth place. Washington finished the second round in 7th place.

The tournament features both the men's and women's teams from nine different colleges, and is hosted by Arkansas on the Razorbacks' home course, Blessings Golf Club.

Boyd posted an even-par 72 in the first round on Monday and shaved two strokes off of that Tuesday. Her scorecard included five birdies and three bogies, with three birdies and no bogies over her final six holes.

At 2-under overall, she's tied for fifth place, along with two other golfers, one stroke from fourth place and two from third.

Jenny Chang and Vivian Lu turned in the next two lowest scores among the UW golfers for Tuesday's round, with 4-over 76s. Chang is 5-over for the tournament, tying her for 23rd place overall; while Lu is 9-over, is tied for 33rd.

Stefanie Deng is next among Huskies on the leaderboard. After a 7-over round on Tuesday, she's 8-over for the tournament, in a tie for 31st. Freshman Mads Smith is tied for tied for 46th at 17-over overall.

The third and final round will get underway Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. PT. The Golf Channel will air live coverage from Fayetteville from 1:00-4:30 p.m. PT.
