Washington student-athletes started the 2022-23 academic year strong, setting the department's highest GPA in two years.

- 21 out of 22 teams earned a 3.0 or higher team GPA
- 167 student-athletes made Dean's List (3.50+ quarter GPA in 12+ numerically graded credits)
- 449 student-athletes (80%) earned a 3.0 or better
- 28 student-athletes from 14 sports earned a perfect 4.0 GPA
- 13 teams earned a 3.40 GPA or higher (Women's Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country, Women's Golf, Gymnastics, Men's Rowing, Women's Soccer, Women's Tennis, Men's Outdoor Track & Field, Women's Outdoor Track & Field, Women's Indoor Track & Field, Men's Indoor Track & Field)
- Women's Tennis led all teams with a 3.81 team GPA
- Small team high GPAs (less than 20 student-athletes): Women's Tennis and Men's Cross Country
- Large team high GPAs (20+ student-athletes): Women's Soccer and Men's Track & Field
- Most improved teams from Spring 2022: Women's Basketball and Baseball
