Huskies For A Cure Returns To UW Athletics Fall Events
October 08, 2026 | Football, General, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Volleyball
SEATTLE -- The Huskies For A Cure campaign returns for a second-straight year, beginning with select October home events. UW Athletics will host a series of athletic events focusing on cancer awareness and fundraising, celebrating survivors, honoring lives lost to the disease, and recognizing medical professionals making an impact in the space.
The Cancer Vaccine Institute (CVI) at UW Medicine is a pioneering research center dedicated to harnessing the power of the immune system to prevent, treat, and stop the recurrence of cancer. Bringing discovery, clinical trials, and patient care together under one roof, CVI focuses on vaccines for breast, ovarian, colon, lung, bladder, and prostate cancers — the diseases responsible for nearly half of all cancer deaths. With more than 30 clinical trials completed and a track record of breakthrough discoveries, CVI's mission is clear: create safe, effective cancer vaccines and change the future of cancer care.
