
Incoming Freshman Trio To Compete At PGF All-American Game

SEATTLE – Ruby Meylan, Sydney Stewart and Alana Johnson are set to compete in the PGF All-American Game today.
The All-Star teams are comprised of 44 athletes from across the country and are split into two different teams. All three will compete with the West Team, Carter will face the National Team on July 30 and broadcasted on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. PT.
Meylan joins the Huskies as the 2022 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year. She was ranked No. 14 coming out of high school by Extra Innings Softball and helped guide Omaha Skutt High School to back-to-back national championships. On the club level, Meylan plays with the Nebraska Gold club team that won the PGF 18U Premier National Championships in 2021.
Stewart makes her way to Montlake from St. Francis High School. With her team, they went 26-0 in 2021 and won the Central Coast Section title. During her junior season, Stewart batter .559 with 12 home runs and 44 RBI while being named First Team All-Area by the San Jose Mercury News. Stewart plays on the club scene with the Cal Nuggets.
Johnson is the first ever recruit from Mississippi. She is a three-time All-State honoree and has won multiple state championships with Parklane Academy. In her senior season, Johnson hit .430 with a .540 on-base percentage with 8 home runs. She plays her club ball with the Texas Blaze United.
Washington is one of four programs that have three or more incoming freshman as part of the All-American game joining Alabama, Arkansas and Arizona.
