
Late Night Battle Goes To The Dawgs

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – In the last game of the evening on day two of the Mary Nutter Classic, the Washington softball team (8-4, 0-0 Big Ten) defeated Saint Mary's 7-0.
Most of the scoring came in spurts for the Huskies, who improve to 1-1 in the tournament. Morgan Reimer gave up just three hits in five innings pitched with four strikeouts.
Three Washington runs came in the opening frame against the Gaels, who had defeated San Diego State 9-5 in eight innings in a game right before.
In the bottom of the first, Jadyn Glab, Alexis DeBoer and Ava Carroll all scored for Washington.
DeBoer hit a solo shot to deep center field, her fifth of the season, in the second to extend the UW lead to 4-0.
Riley Peschek brought in another run for the Huskies in the bottom of the fifth. Shortly after, Glab notched a two-RBI double that drew in Melody Acevedo and Sophi Mazzola to secure the 7-0 victory.
Washington continues Mary Nutter play tomorrow with Auburn at noon and BYU at 3 p.m.
