Bears Draft Kyler Gordon In Second Round

Washington cornerback Kyler Gordon was chosen by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday, the second Husky to be selected this year.
Gordon, from Mukilteo, Wash., spent four seasons at Washington, standing out both at cornerback and as a special teams player. He was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection last fall as a corner, having made honorable mention All-Pac-12 in both 2019 and 2020 as an all-purpose player.
Gordon played in all 29 games the last three seasons, starting 17 of them. He also played in four games in 2018. Last season, he notched 46 tackles, two interceptions and nine passes defended, helping lead a secondary that allowed just six passing touchdowns in 12 games.
On Thursday, his secondary mate Trent McDuffie was chosen by the Chiefs in the first round, 21st overall. Over the last 10 NFL Drafts, 12 Washington defensive backs have been selected. Gordon is also the 21st Husky to be picked in the first two rounds over the last 10 drafts.
